KAUST Health provides a wide variety of services locally to meet the varied health and wellness needs of the community. However, from time-to-time it may be necessary or preferable for community members to go elsewhere for treatment.
Referral support for IMC/The First Clinic
Our KAUST Health booking center can support you in booking appointments or procedures at IMC or The First Clinic in Jeddah.
There are many other hospitals besides IMC/The First Clinic to choose from. Contact your insurance provider for information about your coverage, referrals, and services at other hospitals.
The Patient Liaison Team is dedicated to assisting KAUST-affiliated patients when visiting IMC or The First Clinic in Jeddah. The patient liaison office can help our patients with answering questions and addressing any concerns you might have while at the hospital.

The Patient Portal provides online access to your KAUST Health medical information. Use the Patient Portal to book, view, or cancel appointments, and to access your laboratory results online.

For your convenience, we regularly bring visiting specialists to KAUST Health. Our specialists are highly-qualified medical professionals brought in from all around the Kingdom.

Dentistry
Rehabilitation
Before booking a specialist, we suggest you to speak with your Family Medicine Consultant – in many cases they can provide the care you need without specialist support.
Our emergency services are available 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. This includes a fully-equipped Emergency Department (ED) staffed by highly-trained physicians, nurses, and paramedics. All patients are triaged immediately upon entry to the ED and priority is given to the most critical situations.
Our emergency medical services includes three fully-equipped ambulances for both on-campus emergencies and emergency transfers to Jeddah hospitals. The vast majority of emergency patients do not need to leave KAUST to get the medical care they need.
Also available 24/7 for emergency use are a full range of diagnostic imaging and laboratory services.
KAUST Health maintains a comprehensive pharmacy for prescription medications, which is open during business hours
Medication refill requests may be made via email. Refill requests will be reviewed by a physician and additional follow-up may be needed.

Our on-site laboratory provides rapid, accurate, and meaningful data for optimum patient care. Most lab results can be accessed via the Patient Portal.
KAUST Health supports The KAUST School by staffing the Health Office in every school building. Our qualified nurses’ primary responsibility is to ensure the children are healthy at school. We also provide in-school assessments by a Speech and Language Therapist and run other health screening programs in the schools throughout the academic year.

Bupa Health Insurance
KAUST employees have access to comprehensive national or international insurance plans through Bupa Arabia and Bupa International. A Bupa staff member is located at KAUST Health to support your insurance and claim needs.

Employee Assistance Program
KAUST employees and their families have access to the Employee Assistance Program which provides around-the-clock, free, confidential assistance with many work, life, personal, or family issues.
Administrative Fees
KAUST Health charges a 26 SR administration fee for each new visit to KAUST Health. For follow-up appointments that happen with the same doctor within 14 days, the administration fee is waived. This fee is charged directly through KAUST payroll for KAUST employees and their immediate dependents.
No-Show and Late Attendance Fees
If you are unable to attend a scheduled appointment, please cancel as soon as possible. This allows other patients the opportunity to use the appointment slot.
It is your responsibility to remember your appointment time. A deduction of 100 SR will be charged directly through KAUST payroll if you have missed your appointment time or if you arrive late.
