COVID-19 – March 8 Travel Updates

08 March, 2020

Overview

Following on from the measures announced yesterday regarding preparation for confirmed cases in the Jeddah Region and at KAUST, the Coronavirus Taskforce is continuing to implement measures to prevent COVID-19 from impacting the University and the community that supports it.

Updates to KAUST-designated high-risk regions

Effective immediately, the following locations have been added to the list of KAUST-designated high-risk regions:

  • Austria
  • Belgium
  • Egypt
  • Lebanon
  • Netherlands
  • Norway
  • Sweden
  • Switzerland
  • United Arab Emirates
  • United Kingdom
  • California, USA
  • Washington State, USA

For your safety:

  • Do not plan travel to, from, or transit through KAUST-designated high-risk regions
  • If you are in one of these regions at the moment, remain where you are and contact patient-relations@kaust.edu.sa for guidance and support.
  • If you are planning travel, review the complete list of high-risk regions and further clarification about what this means for your specific situation.

Quarantine

With the continuing additions of high-risk locations there are residents in quarantine within KAUST.  This does not mean that COVID-19 has reached our community – it is simply a precautionary measure.

Measures are in place to both support these individuals as well as to maintain quarantine conditions. Learn more.
