The CMT and the EOC established in response to the COVID-19 crisis continue to take action and wish to provide the following updates.
These are the items that we wish to update you on today.
KAUST cases
We would like to update the community about the seven positive cases identified on campus. Six out of seven cases have now completed the MOH testing requirements in Jeddah and returned negative tests. They have been or are being discharged, and we are pleased to welcome them back into the community. As per MOH guidelines, they are required to enter a 14-day quarantine as a precautionary measure. We will continue to support them during this time.
Census reminder
As part of our COVID-19 preventative measures—and to better assess the anticipated needs of our community—we have sent primary KAUST residents a short survey.
Please help us maximize the success of our efforts by taking just a few minutes fill in the survey sent by email yesterday. Your answers will provide us with extremely valuable information.
Restaurants and coffee shops' hours
Some restaurants and coffee shops on campus have extended their working hours to better accommodate the community, while others have temporarily closed. Please have a look at the updated timings and statuses of different businesses
here.
Health and well-being
During this time, we urge you to take your health and well-being seriously. Check social media in a purposeful and limited way. Go outside for a walk; cycle or jog to relieve stress; and also take a break—especially from your computer or laptop—before the start of the curfew. Remember that resources are available to help via the Community Life
Virtual Community Hub.
