The total number of cases of COVID-19 identified at KAUST remains at 16. All of the positive cases have been discharged upon completion of the MOH testing requirements. The last positive case was 18 days ago.

Government Affairs would like to inform the KAUST community that the reopening plan for KAUST Security Gate 3 will resume gradually over two phases, effective June 7, 2020. 

During Phase 1, effective June 7, the gate will be open from 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. 
Access will be limited to: Workforce who arrive at the gate by bus, contractors, trucks and heavy vehicles and food suppliers. 

No one residing at KAUST is allowed to pass Gate 1 or 3 at this time unless they have a special permission or medical appointment. Quarantine is still in force upon your return to KAUST. We will keep the community informed in due time when moving freely outside of campus will be allowed.  

During Phase 2, effective June 21, the gate will be open from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Access will be limited to: All categories mentioned in Phase 1 plus KAUST staff. 

Please note: All drivers and passengers must adhere to the Keep KAUST safe guidelines and must wear face coverings. They must also abide by physical distancing guidelines inside the vehicle they use once on campus grounds. Buses are limited to a 50% occupancy.  

South Beach, the Harbor Sports Club and the Island Recreation Club are all open for swimming under a limited capacity. 

If you are not able to get in, please be patient and come at another time. Since the reopening, the overall trend shows that it's quieter earlier in the day and that it gets full by mid-afternoon.
