COVID-19 stay at home directive

23 March, 2020

Further to our earlier communication on COVID-19 cases on campus, all residents of KAUST are required to stay at home, unless identified as critical staff.
This decision is with immediate effect. We’ve taken this precautionary action as part of our responsiveness to the presence of a number of cases on campus. The number of confirmed cases has been revised to include a total of 5.

This directive is part of our comprehensive pandemic preparedness plan, put in place over the last few months, and it is now in full implementation.

We want to inform you that each of these cases have come from individuals in quarantine. The process of tracing and analyzing each case is underway and is being carried out in close cooperation with the Saudi Ministry of Health.

All cases are being transferred to DSFH for monitoring and none of them were showing symptoms.

We should all remain calm. We will continue to keep you informed of the ongoing response and with advice and guidelines on Tamimi, Pharmacy, outside activity, restaurants, etc., later today.
