One new case of COVID-19 has been identified at KAUST since yesterday, bringing the total number of cases of COVID-19 identified at KAUST to 13. The individual has been transferred to a nominated facility in Jeddah. The new identified case was in quarantine, as was the small contact tracing group, and all members of the group remain in quarantine. We are keeping in touch with all of our cases and monitoring their progress. We wish each of these community members well.
Keep your social distances at all times
We would like to remind the community that it is mandatory to strictly observe the social distancing directives:
- Any groups of 2+ must be from the same family and household or the people with whom you share a house/apartment
- No gatherings are allowed in public spaces or in accommodation. Do not stop at beaches, monuments, playgrounds, etc., for picnics or play
- Do not enter any house or apartment that is not your KAUST designated accommodation
- Activities in which there is a risk of contact through objects passed between individuals (for example, tennis, badminton, soccer, frisbee, etc.) are not permitted.
Curfew hours during Ramadan
During the Holy Month of Ramadan, curfew times are modified. Community members must remain at home during these times (some exceptions apply
):Midnight – 6:00 a.m.
3:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Tamimi stores will be open during the following hours:
7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

It is vital that KAUST residents strictly observe this curfew, which is aimed at preventing the spread of COVID-19.
Penalties apply, and anyone found traveling around for any other reason will be issued with a violation. We want to reiterate that this is for your protection and the protection of all community members and the frontline staff who are working hard to keep us safe.
We would like to remind the community that all recreation facilities are closed
, including the golf course. Other facilities are currently operating on an adjusted schedule. For a complete overview, please visit the Facility, service and program updates page

May this Ramadan bring joy, serenity and health to you and your family.
