Dear community members,
As the summer approaches, we know that many community members would like to take a vacation, however current international travel restrictions are impacting the ability for many to fly.
KAUST is exploring the option of chartered flights for KAUST community members who would like to fly from Jeddah to either London or Dubai, departing in mid to late June. The same flights can also be utilized for those who are currently out of Kingdom and who want to return to Jeddah.
The cost of chartered flights will be deducted from salary or stipend. Any travel arrangements to your final destination or from your current out-of-Kingdom location to London or Dubai will need to be organized and paid independently by the traveler.
We are also exploring additional multiple return flights from London or Dubai to Jeddah in July or August. The one-way fares estimate will vary depending on flight capacity utilization driven by the airlines public health measures.
If there is sufficient demand, we will explore these options further and will confirm specific details including:
- The final cost of tickets
- Travel insurance and government permissions
- Public health measures
- PPE requirements
- Visa requirements
If you would like to register your interest, please complete the following
form by
Thursday, May 28.
Following the Eid break, we will review the demand. We will also respond to any specific questions that you may have about possible flights once we have more details.
Please email the
Coronavirus Hub if you have any question. Please note that during the Eid break the Coronavirus Hub will work Sunday to Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Hub will aim to respond to all questions as quickly as possible.
Thank you,
The KAUST COVID-19 Crisis Center (KC3)
