Occupational Health

Occupational health services aim to enhance the health and safety of the KAUST workforce through provision of a variety of work-related medical and preventive services.  These include occupational surveillance according to nature of the job, spirometry and respiratory fit testing, immunizations and drug testing.

Promotion of health behaviors that contribute to the physical and mental wellbeing of individuals is another core function that is conducted through the department.

Occupational physicians are also consulted for determinations of an employee’s fitness for duty in light of a recent injury or illness and they contribute significantly to prevention of work disability by focusing on preventive measures that help employees return to and stay at work.
