The testing will enable individuals to identify whether they have previously been exposed to the COVID-19 virus by determining if antibodies are present in their system. It will also help to understand the recent levels of exposure and prevalence of the virus in KAUST, which may have been undetected through asymptomatic positives. While PCR testing only detects an active COVID-19 infection, antibody testing will look back at a longer history. There is no quarantine if you are positive for antibodies.
