KAUST Health and Community Life are providing an 8-session small group program to help you quit smoking. By attending the program, you will learn how to avoid the usual pitfalls associated with quitting smoking and you will be provided tactics for tracking habits, coping. Plus, you’ll be practicing in a supportive environment with others who are experiencing similar challenges.
About the Smoking Cessation Program
By the end of this 2-month program, participants should be able to:
- Identify smoking behavior triggers
- Better cope with stressful situations
- Deal with negative emotions
- Reinforce non-smoking behavior
How it works
The program will be limited to a total of 12 participants, selected on a first-come, first-served basis. This program is not suitable for people struggling with other substance abuse issues. If you’re interested in the possibility of using prescription medication to help you quit smoking during the program, please book an appointment with a KAUST Health family medicine doctor.
Timing and venue
The program sessions will be held between October 1 and November 27. The sessions will be every Tuesday, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at KAUST Health Conference Room 2. Please note that there are no sessions during the first week of November due to the University break.
We request that you commit to missing no sessions in the 2-month program to ensure that you and the other participants get as much out of the program as possible.
As a service to the community, this program is being offered free-of-charge to you. It is fully subsided by KAUST Health.
Apply to the Smoking Cessation Program
This program is open to KAUST employees and/or KAUST residents over 18 years of age. All respondents will be contacted within two weeks of the registration closing date to confirm if your application has been accepted. The confirmation email will be sent by ACT Center.
