Our lives have changed during the pandemic, and it can feel a little overwhelming at times. This unprecedented situation is impacting our professional and personal lives in many different ways. 

The wellness and emotional support teams from across KAUST have come together to arrange for support during these uncertain times. Together these teams, along with outside partners, are offering a range of services online.

Resources and Support

A wide variety of free resources and support are available, including:

  • Health, Wellness, and Counseling for Graduate Students
    Counseling services offering support from our onsite mental health professionals are available to all Graduate Students. Visit the Health, Wellness, and Counseling website or email hwc@kaust.edu.sa to schedule an appointment with a counselor.

  • KAUST Health psychological and psychiatric services
    KAUST Health psychological and psychiatric services are available for all community members over 18 years of age. Call 012 808 0940 to schedule an appointment.

  • Support for Children
    Support for children age 18 years and under can be accessed by emailing the division counselor (for children attending TKS) and/or the School Psychologist by emailing paul.ocallaghan@kaust.edu.sa.

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

    All personnel and eligible dependents can contact http://www.worldwideassist.co.uk for a variety of assistance and resources including mental health counseling support. EAP is free, confidential support available any time, any day, for a variety of work or personal matters. Support is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

    In addition, the EAP service offers support options which may be of use at this time:

    • Career development 
    • Effective manager 
    • Personal Financial and Insurance Assistance
    • Support for caregivers and those caring for elderly relatives
    • Health and nutrition advice and guidance
    • Parenting, childcare, & kid's wellbeing

  • Virtual Health and Wellness Sessions
    We have arranged virtual Health and Wellness Webinars which are being conducted by health professionals including physicians and certified corporate wellness specialists and health coaches. To register, please visit Corona Virus Lifestyle Preparedness Webinar. A zoom link will then be sent out to you. All of the below webinars are provided by Delta Wellness; learn more about Delta Wellness in this video they created for the KAUST Community. 
          The webinars cover:

    • COVID-19  latest information
    • Pandemic lifestyle preparedness
    • Life under quarantine – What to expect
    • Pandemics and Wellness – Holistic health optimization
    • Stress management and coping mechanisms for our new circumstances
    • Opportunity for questions and answers

  • 1:1 Health Coaching & Family Health Coaching

These one-hour free health coaching sessions are provided by the Jeddah-based group Delta Wellness. These sessions are designed to optimize an individual's health based on their unique needs and goals. To find out more about this program or to register click 1:1 Health Coaching Form and the coach will contact you directly for a virtual session.

Delta Wellness is also providing family health coaching. These sessions are designed for family members who would like to facilitate change together. The main focus is that this option provides a fun and meaningful activities for family members to boost mental, physical, emotional, and social wellbeing.   • Support Groups
    This service is similar to the 1:1 health coaching session but designed for groups of individuals. For example, families who would like to facilitate change together, or those with the same chronic illness who want to connect.  This option provides a support group feeling. To arrange a group virtual session, click here: Group Health Coaching 

  • Individual, couple, and family counseling
    KAUST has arranged for a local provider, Act Center, to deliver online counseling sessions for individuals, couples, or families.  To arrange a session with Act center, you can Email: actonlineservices@gmail.com or call +966 53 909 0944 from 9:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. (Ramadan Hours: Sunday-Thursday 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM and 10:00 PM - 1:00 AM)

  • Virtual Community Hub
    The KAUST Virtual Community Hub contains many useful resources, from online parenting support to set up your home for remote working. Please remember to share any tips, ideas or resources that you find with GetEngaged@kaust.edu.sa and we can include it in our Virtual Community Hub.
